Arkansas: Safe Haven Baby Boxes Contradicts Their Own Facts

I’m confused–again.

For the 20-teenth time I’m hearing that newborn discard is an overwhelming scourage coursing through the country, The story goes something like this. “We really need a baby box in my hometown. There are so many abandoned and dead babies babies here.” Seldom is the claim accompanied by facts. No news stories No government reports. They just know.

This claim remains unquestioned by the incurious media that weekly spews this drivel, churned straight from the Safe Haven Baby Box Inc Gospel Grinder.

We don’t deny that newborn discard and death happens, but it needs to be addressed with logic and compassion, not government-organized baby abandonment schemes that harm babies and their families through manipulated shame, secrecy, and anonymity, under the guise of consumer do-goodism.

Here’s what SHBB Inc doesn’t want to tell you and the disinterested media won’t tell you: the number of reported discard cases is tiny. Lawmakers and well-intentioned lawmakers and the public are getting led around by the nose

Truth is: there is no newborn discard epidemic in Arkansas. Since 2017, according to SHBB’s own statistics. 4 discard cases were reported.

(The SHBB Inc website posted their stats on a regular basis until the site was updated and stats disappeared. Now, they are occasionally posted on its social media pages. )

According to the FEMA/National Fire Department Registry Arkansas as 692 registered fire stations. (Others might be unregistered.)This means that if Arkansas followed Rep Mayberry’s suggestion, boxes, since SHBB Inc insists it takes no public funds( though it certainly does) would cost $11,072,000. Perhaps SHBB Inc should hire a professional fundraising department to generate donations from good-hearted Arkansans to transfer money their pockets to SHBB Inc’s. corporate coffers.

Between Safe Haven Baby Boxes Inc and Donald Trump I’ve moved into a nice safe basket to calm my nerves. I have also acquired a secretary to do things I don’t want to do.
