Oh dear! Monica Kelsey, CEO and founder of Safe Haven Baby Boxes, was “forced” to cancel a baby box contract in Texas because the unnamed hospital, for whatever reason, wanted a camera on the box! We don’t have any details other than this Facebook post, but honestly, it makes our day: One small step for common sense scuttled the project.
In the video, Mrs. Kelsey says she will never destroy the “integrity” of her project by allowing a camera on a baby box.
But what about the integrity of current and future adopted people that is destroyed with each baby abandonment box installation? Oh, that’s right. SHBBs “trump” (what a great word for this social experiment!) our civil rights? Nevermind…
We’ve always wondered about that security camera at a gas station, convenience store, or parking lot across the street or next door from a box location that has no relationship with that location. Does SHBB Inc. demand its removal?
