Stop Safe Haven Baby Boxes Now
Alaska : SB9 Authorization for Safe Haven Baby Boxes
Alaska House Judiciary Committee, April 15,2026
We need your help now!
SB9 and its House companion HB64 received several hearings last session and were held over to 2026. Bastard Nation/SHBBN submitted opposition testimony to both chambers, where the proposals received overwhelming support. Committees in both houses, however, refused to vote on them due to questions raised by some committee members. Hearings on HB64 were held in February, but no action was taken. Unfortunately, SB9, with a push from Right to Life Interior Alaska ,passed 18-2 in the Senate on Marc h 31.
Sen Loki Tobin delivered an outstanding speech on the Senate floor explaining why she opposes the bill.–by far the most passionate and inspiring speech from a lawmaker we have ever heard on why SHBBs are bad. See:
- Watch the video. The floor debate starts at 22:28 and Sen. Tobin’s floor speech at 26:13 (Video located in blog just above this,)
A hearing for SB9 is scheduled in the House Judiciary Committee on April 15 . We have little time to act.
BN and SHBBN have again submitted joint written testimony, revised from what we submitted in February. Here is the link.
Please join us and contact the House Judiciary Committee to voice your opposition to Safe Haven Baby Boxes. A few sentences are sufficient. If you have a connection to Alaska include it. All committee members will receive your testimony/letter sent to the address below

Safe Haven Baby Boxes are a direct attack on the adoptee rights movement and bastards who speak their own truth. Currently, there are over 425 boxes in the US. 76 newborns have been caught and erased from their own histories and birth records. The adoptee voice has been virtually ignored by baby abandonment box promoters who say that adopted people who oppose are “mentally unstable.” Let your voice be heard now and show them who is really unstable.
Thank you!
