MEOW !!!!! I was horrified to see that I haven’t posted here for nearly 1 1/2 years. It’s not like I’m not on the job here every day. The PB ( Putative Boss) keeps having weird computer issues–and don’t get me started on the new printer, both of which force me to visit the library to print out what I used to do with the flick of my paw at home.

But now circumstances force me to take a moment to post a seriously Stupid Things People Say About Safe Haven Baby Boxes. commentary. Perhaps the most stupid thing I’ve read, which says something about the state of this archaic, misogynistic movement that defines women in so-called “crisis pregnancies” as nothing more than dutiful worker bees whose job it s to fill the arms of the privileged desperate and childless. via the child redistribution market. (Calling Karl Marx!)

Yesterday, the SHBB Inc FB page posted the most outrageous suggestions on how to get the baby abandonment box message to the public. I am almost embarrassed to re-post it here, but duty calls. I should not be too hard on this poster, however, since he vast majority of the SHBB Inc fanbase are well-intentioned but propagandized by the company with a much larger agenda than its name tells you.

 Perhaps it should be introduced either at sex Ed in school and at diagnosis of pregnancy and maybe even on the pregnancy stick box?

Just how insulting to women in general and pregnant women in particular can these people get? I mean, making the assumption that women at the moment they learn they are pregnant need instructions about accessing information on how to conceal pregnancy and dump the baby in an adoption mill box 9 months later. Just imagine if this message were about abortion!

Now I don’t think Mrs. Kelsey would go along with the last 2 schemes. Imagine, for instance, the time and money it would take to turn the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists  and the pregnancy test industry into SHBB proxies. She’d need a whole new fundraising drive, and as the PB wrote earlier this year, the last one didn’t seem to go so well.

I really need to start posting these ridiculous ideas about baby boxes and adoption on a regular basis. I’ve certainly filed away enough of them. Americans have lost their freaking minds.
