Week of June 24-27, 2025: Safe Haven Baby Boxes Inc Runs Amok!

Things have been pretty quiet the last couple of weeks, with zero-1-2 Safe Haven Baby Box openings. Now that summer is officially here, though, the SHBB industry is bursting with energy and running amok throughout the country. This week, 8 boxes will go into operation. Yes! 8 boxes!

June 24, 2025:

• Ardmore Fire Station #2, Ardmore, Oklahoma

June 25, 2025:

• Ennis Fire Station #3, Ennis, Texas

June 26, 2025:

• Versailles Fire Station #1, Versailles, Kentucky (this will make 55 boxes in operation in the state, with a goal of 155)
• Covenant Children’s Hospital, Lubbock, Texas
• Covenant Health, Plainview, Texas
• Covenant Hospital, Leveland, Texas

June 27, 2025

• Athens Fire Station #1, Athens, Tennessee
• Dalhart EMS Station, Dalhart, Texas

Response on Facebook has been ecstatic. Besides thanking God (and Mrs Kelsey), fans tell us that “fill in the blank city needs a box,” because everybody’s hometown is knee-deep in discarded newborns, despite there being well under 100 reported cases nationwide each year. Of course, in SHBBLand, facts mean nothing.

This is gonna be a long hot summer, folks!

The house fire saga continues. After 2 1/2 months, substantially no repairs have been made (thank you Mr. Insurance Adjuster), although completetion was supposed to be the last week of May. So far we have lived in 2 hotels. and are now moved into a friend’s extra bedroom for the duration. Last week the internet in the last hotel was down for several days, so we are behind in our work–and all of our research and records are still in storage (which at least the insurance pays for.)
