We have pointed out before how the vulgarity exhibited by SHBB Inc founder/CEO Monica Kelsey exhibits on social media when promoting her baby-rescue trap is weird. We have never determined how the public discussion of (literal) bathroom habits relates to “baby saving” or promotes the use of baby boxes. Nor have we determined how throwing F-bombs around elevates her cause.
This messaging, has no known relationship to her mission other than as a performance piece to rook support: “See. I’m just a regular gal. ” This rhetorical trick is joined-at-the-hip to the ” I love Jesus, but I like to cuss” ” jive she promotes herself and company online and with overpriced SHBB Inc merch. (The link to this promotion below is no longer available on the SHBB website.)

Apparently, Mrs Kelsy believes that women in a SHBB Inc-defined “crisis,” surfing the web for relief , will be attracted to bathroom talk and cussing.
This clip (posted on SHBB FB, (taken from a recent Beyond the Box podcast) is another example of Mrs Kelsey’s low humor. Why she would choose this 54 seconds out of a 1-hour podcast to promote her agenda, raise money, and advertise her services is a puzzle.
“…and that’s when I couldn’t find my bra…”…Monica Kelsey
The only comment the clip has received as of this writing is “Tacky.”
Better yet, upon watching this clip, a baby box critic IM’d me:
So tired of all the stories about her son’s ass, her boobs and her husband’s disappearing swim trunks.
Indeed!
Imagine the uproar if baby box opponents–bastards, adoption reformers, child welfare professionals, and scholars, and trad SH advocates– routinely discussed their underwear malfunctions or “better yet,” their lack of underwear.
This trivialization of baby abandonment is profound and shameful.
