Hello, Angelika – Our names are Xena and Gus.
Our human knows your human (the P.B., or Putative Boss), so we are taking advantage of it to submit to you something for your occasional Stop Safe Haven Baby Boxes page ( hairball hack; excuse us).
Our human came across something online that was supposed to be a game. She figured out the premise and commenced her own hissing and spitting. She unfortunately shut down the page in disgust before getting the name of either the game or the developer. The game starts out with the avatar of a young woman with a child standing beside her and a baby in her arms. The beginning choice is whether she puts the baby in a baby box in front of her or keeps it to make a life for the 3 of them. Yes/No in the starkest of terms.
Our human was very upset, first with the premise, and second, that the developer would think this was appropriate for a GAME! She called it reckless, dangerous, and unconscionable!
Please suggest that your readers (fans) locate the name and developer of this game, and protest. When people send letters in protest against SHBB bills, this should be cited as an example of how cheaply the bill’s supporters view this particular choice associated with reproductive rights.

Thank you so much for your letter! I got a little behind in my work (that is , the Putative Boss (PB)did), but I’m taking a pause to post your letter and concerns today along with my own comments.
This is the game you are referencing (and I don’t’ blame your human for shutting it down! Hairball indeed!) Gossip Harbor. It is easy to find online, but I won’t put a link here since I don’t want to look like we support it, You can find it easy enough if you want.
Monica Kelsey, founder and CEO of Safe Have Boxes is quite aware that her baby abandonment box is featured in this popular game, though she apparently had nothing to do with the placement. We believe her since, despite her claims, she and her boxes are not a worldwide phenomenon.
We first heard about this game in December ,2023 or January, 2014, and made a mental note to write about it, but got caught up in legislation and obviously didn’t. Our bad! At that time we found Mrs Kelsey posting pleased-as-punch on Facebook about the free advertising to 12-year old girls and urging readers to check it out.
Some of her fanbase was not. so pleased. We stupidly did not save that thread. Our bad again! Now that we are ready to post Xena and Gus’s blog, that thread is gone. Two of us spent several hours looking for it through every method we could think of.
Gone
Nuked.
Boxed.
The closest we came to recovering the document is the snippet from the FB page found through Google and other search engines. The link deadends. Try it.

We also remember about a month ago that someone on the SHBB Inc Facebook page brought the game up again. Curbing her previous enthusiasm, Mrs Kelsey assured us that the crack SHBB Inc baby box legal team was trying to get the box removed from the game, but they couldn’t figure out who developed it.* Or maybe Mrs Keley was perturbed that she wasn’t getting a cut of the $$$ pie. Monotizing family tragedy is the name of the baby box game.
Here I’ll help them: The developer is MicroFun based in Beijing, where we doubt a cease and desist letter from a Hoosier in Fort Wayne holds much sway.
Of course, we would love to see the box and its creepy disgusting message removed, but that doesn’t seem likely. After all, China is the modern-day monarch of baby boxing. But, there is a paradoxical silver lining : (1) the inability of SHBB Inc to monetize its free publicity; and (2) if we really want to go nutso a la TikTok, we could spread the story that SHBB Inc is funded by the Chinese Communist Party to destabilize the American family.
*We started to slog through the thousands of comments posted on the FB page, but it’s just too much, and again, maybe it’s been removed. No search words are working

I am thrilled that Xena and Gus submitted this piece to us and apologize for not getting it up sooner. The DB and I hope that they will submit more. We love hearing from them. We have plenty of thoughts on our own that are sitting in our draft box so we appreciate help. We plan to finish up our half-written blogs and get them out in some systematic order soon.
